Cervical Arthritis Causes and Symptoms
Cervical Arthritis Causes and Symptoms:
Cervical osteoarthritis refers to a condition that causes damage to the neck’s discs, bones, and joints. These changes can be explained by the normal wear and tear of aging. As we age, the discs in our cervical spine gradually become less flexible and lose their fluid. Most people with Arthritis in the neck are middle-aged or older. We will explain what symptoms and causes cervical Arthritis.
Causes
Cervical Arthritis is caused by aging, natural wear to the vertebrae, and repeated traumas due to work or recreation. Specialists know that cervical osteoarthritis can also be caused by other forms of Arthritis, such as ankylosing and rheumatoid. Cervical spondylosis is most commonly associated with neck stiffness and pain. Cervical spondylosis can be corrected in severe cases, although it is rare to progress.
Signs
Cervical Osteoarthritis (or Cervical Spondylosis) is characterized by chronic cervical neck pain. This neck pain can be caused by nerve or spinal cord compression. Osteophytes call bone ridges “bone ridges.” They are caused by arthritic changes that reduce the space for the spine and limit movement in the neck.
You may also notice other symptoms of cervical Arthritis, such as:
- Stiffness in the neck that restricts movement
- Muscle weakness, possibly with deadness in neck and arms, or perhaps the hands and fingers.
- Balance loss
- Headaches
- The neck is tender to the touch.
Cervical myelopathy is when cervical spondylosis causes pressure on the spine cord (cervical stenosis). Myelopathy is a sign of cervical spondylosis.
- Numbness, tingling, and / or weakness in the arms or legs, hands, legs, feet, or feet
- Reflexes that are not normal
- Do not have coordination or difficulty walking
- Muscle spasms
- Incontinence is a loss of bladder control and bowel control.
Myelopathy, or compression of the long tracts in the spinal cord, is a common treatment for cervical Arthritis. This condition is known as spinal stenosis. This condition can cause symptoms such as weakness, incontinence, and loss of sensation. Cervical Arthritis can be diagnosed by long-term stenosis.
